Tetisi for CAB 5
Chicago Architecture Biannial
November, 2023 – February, 2024
TETISI (for CAB) is a pavilion monument to honor Frederick and Anna Douglass. “Tetisi” translates from Yoruba to “listen” in English, signifying the importance of listening to and learning from each other.
The wooden prototype structure built in Bronzeville is a near 1:1 scale model of the planned permanent structure to be built in Douglass Park. The structure built for Chicago Architecture Biennale is intended to serve as a “rehearsal” for the ultimate permanent pavilion.
