Cabinet of Curiosities

Originally designed for exhibition at the Highland Park Art Center, the Cabinet of Curiosities served to display works by a myriad of Chicago-based artists within Teague’s 2022 solo exhibition at the Center.

The piece is inspired by 18th and 19th century curio cabinets which privately displayed the (often ill-gotten) relics from their owner’s travels. The Cabinet of Curiosities challenges this concept by populating a publicly accessible collection of artwork from passionate volunteers.

The Cabinet of Curiosities was later used as a literature display during the 2023 Deem Symposium at the MCA
